BSP, Searca explore collaboration in agriculture, rural development

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has expressed interest in exploring partnership with the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (Searca), particularly in linkages on agriculture and rural development.

During a visit to Searca earlier last month, Dr. V. Bruce Tolentino, BSP Monetary Board member noted Searca’s work with Southeast Asian countries, especially the Philippines where sustainable agriculture has a huge potential for economic growth yet it is confronted with challenges.
